If you already own Overwatch but haven’t been playing lately, it’s time to fire it back up. If, for some inexplicable reason, you don’t own Overwatch yet, there’s no more excuses. Now is the time to buy.
Not only is the game on sale for $35 right now at major retailers (both online and brick-and-mortar) it’s also a better game than it was at launch.
Blizzard has made a bunch of changes and added some great new content, including two new heroes—the hacker Sombra and the support sniper Ana—a new medieval-themed map, and a ton of arcade modes. There’s also been two seasons of competitive play with more to come, as well as two special holiday events for the Summer Olympic Games and Halloween.
In a recent update, Blizzard also added several new game modes, including one that cycles between all the different arcade modes, a 1v1 duel mode, and various others like 3v3 elimination. All of this adds a ton of variety for how to play.
All told, the game has never been better. The community is still robust. Professional players and teams have become a big deal in the eSports community. And it’s every bit as fun as it was the day it launched—just with more to do, more players to choose from, and so forth.
It’s time to get on the payload, people. Defend the objective. If you’re not on the Overwatch train, get on it. I have a hunch this will be on many GOTY lists including, quite possibly, our own.
