PJ Masks has been on the rise in the playground, toy shop, TV and app store. On Dec 8 the PJ Masks Super City Run game will join the current releases Moonlight Heroes, Nighttime Ninjalinos and Hero Training.
The game this takes the series in a new direction though. Unlike the super-simple games already released on the website and tablets this is a more involved challenge.
The Super City Run game is viewed from top-down and places each of the heroes in a time-bound level. Navigating through a maze of hazards and power-ups looks like this is drawing on rogue-like experiences although the penalty for failing will be lighter here given the young audience.
At the end of the level you can achieve a number of different scores that each give reason for repeat plays to achieve the perfect run. As the name suggests this edges it into the endless runner category which is also popular with young players.
The app will be released globally on Dec 8 and will be available on iTunes, Googleplay and Amazon for $2.99 in the US and £2.29 in the UK.
Another strand of the PJ Masks media strategy are a series of music videos for children to sing, dance and hum along to. A new set of these will be premiering on November 28 on Disney Jr. There will be 5 of these in total, including the seasonal “Hello Christmas” that arrives first.
