As we all know, the main failings of the NES Classic Edition is that it only has 30 games bundled on it, that you cannot change, and that the gamepads have comically short cables. Well, in the case of the latter 8Bitdo has a solution for you.
Called the Retro Receiver, 8Bitdo is going to release one for the NES Classic Edition. This will allow players to use Bluetooth wireless game pads on the micro console.
The set comes with a NES themed gamepad and a Bluetooth dongle compatible with the NES Classic Edition. Costing $39.99, it also allows you to use Bluetooth gamepads from other consoles, such as the PS3 and PS4.
The good news is that 8Bitdo is planning to have this version of the Retro Receiver available before Christmas and you should be able to pick it up via Amazon.
Now, this Retro Receiver is not the first of its kind and 8Bitdo has released all manner of other versions for classic consoles, so if you want to play your old NES wirelessly then 8Bitdo also has you covered.
In addition, 8Bitdo also offers a variety of nice pads that also work with the Retro Freak, which is a thoroughly amazing console if ever there was one.
So say goodbye to the NES Classic Edition’s bizarrely short game pad cables, now if only Nintendo could resolve the availability of the micro console then I am sure that would make for a very nice piece of Christmas related news.
