FanDuel And DraftKings Are Dominating The Daily Fantasy Sports Market [Infographic]

The last few years have seen quite a bit of growth in the fantasy sports gambling industry. There are two major companies pushing this growth, DraftKings, whose revenue has grown from 3 million in 2013 to 105 million in 2015, and FanDuel, whose revenue has grown from 57 million in 2014 to 170 million in 2015.

In 2015 these companies spent over 500 million on advertising to try and bring more users to their sites. $200 million of that money was spent on TV commercials. Which is a lot when you consider that FanDuel’s revenue in 2015 was only $170 million. Both companies succeeded in making themselves clear industry leaders by grabbing up 90% of the markets active users, which comes out to just under 4 million people.

There were a few other factors in 2015 that point to even more growth in the industry over the next few years. They include an increase in the number of smartphones and app downloads, a shift in the industry to casual gaming rather than traditional sports booking, a rise in eCommerce, an increase in the availability of better internet connections, and customer friendly addition including partial cash-out and in-play better. Also, fantasy sports just have a lot of appeal. They allow customers to create teams out of their favorite professional athletes and compete with friends and strangers.

The infographic below explains more about this industry, it’s leaders, and where it is headed.
