2016 is almost coming to a close, for better and for worse. This year has been many things, but today we’re mostly concerned with the fact that it’s seen a positively gigantic number of video games, from AAA to indie and everywhere in between. Tonight, Geoff Keighly and the broader gaming public celebrate that fact with the third annual Game Awards. Expect awards for the best the industry has to offer, as well as a look at some of the biggest games of next year: names like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mass Effect Andromeda and Red Dead Redemption 2. Streams kick off at 5:30 PST, and you can catch the action right below this paragraph:
Worth noting that in addition to the above window, you can watch The Game Awards on pretty much every major platform that isn’t a traditional television network. The show is streaming on pretty much everything that permits streaming, including Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Snapchat. It’s also broadcasting on Xbox Live, Playstation Network, Steam and in Virtual Reality. They’ve cast this thing pretty broad this year, and it’s gearing up to be the biggest show yet in The Game Awards’ brief history. It’s hard to tell whether to call this thing “the Oscars of video games’ or something else entirely, but it’s one of the biggest nights the industry has to offer regardless.
