Let slip the dogs of EA vs Activision
In case you've been living under a rock for the last few hours - we were playing Overwatch, sorry - EA has announced that it'll be bringing the next entry in the Battlefield series - Battlefield 1 - to Xbox One in October.
Battlefield 1 will let you bring a horse to a tank fight in its World War I settings, which will feature horseback battles, biplanes, tanks, battleships, boots-on-the-ground fighting, and more. Up to 64 players can take their place on the field in online multiplayer, with settings ranging from a besieged French city, to wide-open spaces in the Italian Alps, and combat in the deserts of Arabia.
"The game will deliver a fresh experience full of what makes Battlefield great, with a multiplayer sandbox, immersion, epic scale, authenticity, team play and an ever-changing world full of unexpected Battlefield moments," said Aleksander Grøndal, Senior Producer, DICE. "We're inviting players on an epic journey across a war-torn world, taking them to the Great War and providing something both varied and unique in Battlefield 1."
The first trailer for the game has been released, featuring either a tremendous or violently offensive dubstep reimagining of The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army", depending on your viewpoint.
Battlefield 1 will launch on Xbox One on October 21st, 2016, and EA Access subscribers will of course get early access for a limited time before launch with an Xbox One-exclusive Play First Trial.
