Broforce is a game that brings back everything good about platformers back in the day. From the moment you take your first step, you know you are in for one heck of an adventure.
With the game now on PS4, it's more accessible than ever. Being able to stream it right off your PlayStation 4 has helped a lot of starting out YouTubers and Twitch users.
This is what you get when you start pitching ideas at 3 in the morning, but one of them actually turns out to be amazing. The protagonists are clearly parodies of action heroes (of course fully intended) who have to "'Mericanize" the terrorists and all other threats. This game is bloody, but it's that great type of blood that has you leaving corpses in your wake as your huge, burly veins pulse is a feeling unlike any other.
Though the game is difficult, I would have to say it's mostly fair. The reason I say "mostly" is because the game does get chaotic to the point where it's hard to keep track of your character not to mention a little lag here or there. In some sections, in my opinion, they shouldn't have stacked so many enemies in an area. The slow-down/lag in a game such as this is really unfortunate, but at the end of the day it did not make me want to stop playing.
You are dropped into a level with a simple objective: get to the end and nothing else. Anything else you do is entirely optional, and I love the way the game deals with this. You can approach any situation in multiple ways. You can do it the 'Merica way and just run through blazing guns. I'm not gonna lie, many times I would fail over over and over again trying to think of a strategy. A lot of times I could rely on just doing it the 'Merica way.
Though some of the enemies can look almost idiotic, you still have to play carefullu because you will die by only one shot. When you rescue prisoners of war you will get an extra life, but it's not all good news. You will then receive a new bro and a lot depends on if you are good with playing them. Once you get to the end of each level you kill Satan? Then raise the American Flag as you "Get To The Chopper!"
Overall, Broforce's 90's iconic action movie feel presents a very fun and fair platformer that challenges the player toby not giving them too much information. You are left to figure things out on your own just like in war. You don't have all the answers; you just have to hope things work out. With the characters always changing, there is always something new to love. If you are looking for an enjoyable game that can keep you entertained for a few hours then this is something you should check out.
