The dynamic weather and time-lapsing introduced in the PS3 Gran Turismo titles will not feature in the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport on PS4, creator Kazunori Yamauchi has told GTPlanet.
According to Yamauchi the decision is all about ensuring solid performance during racing.
"We opted to not have the transitions in the race this time in order to raise the framerate and the quality of the image during the race," explained Yamauchi.
He added that users "will be able to set that before they enter the race. So you’ll still be able to have night races, morning, races at dawn, dusk, and so on."
The pre-baked weather in Forza 6 was often criticised by PS3 gamers who pointed to the dynamic effects found in Gran Turismo 6.
PS4 racer Driveclub introduced dynamic weather as part of a post-launch update, so perhaps the same could happen to Gran Turismo Sport at some point down the line.
Gran Turismo Sport launches in the UK on November 18 exclusively on PS4. Check out the first gameplay footage in the trailer below.
