Gran Turismo Sport launches November 15, 2016 - first gameplay footage - Gran Turismo Sport for PS4 News

Gran Turismo Sport, the latest racer in the long-running series, will make its debut on PS4 later this year.

Taking to the stage at a London conference, Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi claimed that Sport features "A level of innovation not seen since the first Gran Turismo".

Gran Turismo Sport will feature four groups of cars, of which each contains real-world and fantasy vehicles. All of the cars have also been remodelled "from scratch" since Gran Turismo 6, and every one now has an interior view.

There will be 137 'Super Premium' car models, 19 locations with 27 layouts, and dirt tracks are also making a return.

Sport will also boast a Twitter-like timeline with updates on activities and events, and will feature a livery editor (a first for the series) and companion app.

Photo mode makes a return, now dubbed 'Scapes', with the player able to place the car in over 1000 locations. There is no limit to the amount of cars you can place on-screen (provided there's space for them), and the mode outputs images in 4K.

Polyphony has also stated that it hopes to support PlayStation VR from launch. When asked about GT Sport taking advantage of PS4K/Neo, Yamauchi smiled and said "I don't know", but that he'd "heard the rumours".

The first gameplay of Gran Turismo Sport will be shown at 6:30pm BST: check it all out here
