Chinese mobile game Sepia Go! rips off Splatoon

Here comes the latest Chinese knock-off: Sepia Go!, which is just a blatant copy of Splatoon. Question is, will Nintendo be able to do anything about it?

Talk about shameless. A new mobile game named Sepia Go! overtly resembles a certain 2015 shooter, and...well, we'll let the screenshots do the talking.

That's not inspired by Splatoon; that's a straight-up copy! Just look at the gameplay footage: the characters, settings, mechanics and even the music are all ripped straight from the popular Wii U game.

Little information is known on who's behind this blatant copyright infringement, but it doesn't come as a surprise. China is infamous for its countless bootlegs and knock-offs of popular media franchises, and with how lax their copyright laws are, most of them sadly slip past the radar. For example, Blizzard has had their ups and downs in pursuing copyright infringement over there, so Nintendo may have a tough time with this case.

We'll give the uninspired hacks credit, though: Nintendo recently dismissed the idea of a 3DS Splatoon since the ink mechanic would be too much for a handheld, so that these guys got it working on a mobile game is no small feat.

Do you think Nintendo can shut down this knock-off? Let us know in the comments below!
