Game of Thrones Season 7 could premiere later than its typical March/April slot due to production being pushed back to allow the elements to more closely resemble Winter in Westeros.
"We don't have an air date yet," showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed on the UFC Unfiltered podcast. "We're starting a bit later because at the end of this season, 'Winter is here' - and that means that sunny weather doesn't really serve our purposes anymore.
"So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim, gray weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot."
The pair didn't state if the delayed shooting will mean a later air date for the seventh season, but it is a real possibility.
It's believed the show could end after season 8, though this is yet to be confirmed.
