A Pokemon GO player has cheated his way to Level 40 just to find out what happens when you reach the game's current level cap. As it turns out, that's not very much.
Reaching Level 40 is a gruelling task, so it's no surprise to find out that Luca, the first to reach this level, did so using a bot script which enabled his character to run around catching Pokemon with no effort.
Luca doesn't boast about the achievement, in fact asking Niantic to remove his account. He also claims he never used a Pokemon Gym as this would have been unfair to other legit players.
So what does happen when you reach Level 40? Well, Luca was rewarded with a host of the usual items which are dished out at earlier levels, including 40 Ultra Balls, 40 Max Potions, 40 Max Revives, 40 Razz Berries, four Incense, four Lucky Eggs, four Incubators and four Lure Modules.
There was no sign of the Master Ball, which has already been seen inside the game's code. So underwhelming was the Level 40 haul that it's now believed Niantic will be increasing the level cap at some point in the future. The developer has said the game currently features only 10 per cent of its planned content/features.
