What Movie Should I See This Weekend?

Nationwide releases
Hardcore Henry R Trailers
Russian director Ilya Naishuller's debut feature is first-person shooter cinema. Filmed with body-mounted GoPro cameras, the movie plays out from the POV of a super-soldier named Henry, who races to save his wife (Haley Bennet) from a super-villain with telekinetic powers. A scientist named Jimmy, played by Sharlto Copley in various guises, is Henry’s only help.
The Boss R Trailers
Melissa McCarthy reunites with her husband Ben Falcone (Tammy), though the results are once again inferior to McCarthy's Paul Feig collaborations. Falcone directs, they both write, and she stars as a Martha Stewart/Suze Orman titan of industry who is jailed for insider trading. Upon her release, she settles on the couch of her assistant, played by Kristen Bell. The comedy also stars Kristen Schaal, Kathy Bates, Peter Dinklage, Cecily Strong, and Margo Martindale.
Notable limited and/or VOD releases
Neon Bull NR   Trailers
Brazilian writer-director Gabriel Mascaro’s second narrative feature surprised critics (in a good way) when it showed in Venice and Toronto last fall. Coming just a year after he found festival success with his first feature, August Winds, Neon Bull takes viewers into the world of vaquejada, a traditional sport in which cowboys try to pull bulls down by their tails. The elliptical narrative focuses on Iremar (Juliano Cazarré), who designs outfits for dancers in his spare time while dreaming of making fashion his vocation.
The Invitation NR

Karyn Kusama (Girlfight, Jennifer’s Body) directs this thriller starring Logan Marshall-Green as a man who suspects the worst of his dinner party hosts, who happen to be his ex-wife (Tammy Blanchard) and her new husband (Michiel Huisman).
Louder Than Bombs R   Trailers
The English-language debut from writer-director Joachim Trier (Reprise, Oslo, August 31st) examines the impact of a war photographer’s (Isabelle Huppert) death on her husband (Gabriel Byrne) and two sons (Jesse Eisenberg and Devin Druid).
One More Time NR Trailers
Christopher Walken plays an aging crooner seeking a comeback as he is visited by his daughter (Amber Heard), herself a struggling singer-songwriter.
Mr. Right R Trailers
Despite the charm of stars Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell, critics were not kind to this action-comedy when it premiered in Toronto last year. Maybe screenwriter Max Landis (American Ultra, Victor Frankenstein) is to blame, or the fault could lie in Paco Cabezas’ (Rage) direction. Kendrick stars as the unlucky-in-love Martha, who falls for Francis (Rockwell), a hitman who’s being hunted by multiple parties including James Ransone, RZA, and an FBI agent played by Tim Roth.
Demolition R   Trailers
After impressing critics with his first two features (Dallas Buyers Club and Wild), director Jean-Marc Vallée comes up a bit short with his third film, though critics mainly blame the script by Bryan Sipe. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as a grief-stricken investment banker who decides to tear down his life before building it back up. Judah Lewis, Naomi Watts and Chris Cooper also star.
