Sometimes, you need more than just the daily ramblings of an obsessed lunatic to help sway your opinion about buying into a certain video game (Hi mom!). Sometimes, you need to try the game out for yourself…without needing to drop many multiples of your favourite currency on it. It used to be that demos were plentiful and easily available for every game being released, a try it before you buy it attitude that is bordering on extinction right now, because the world is a cruel place.
I mean, that explains how a wrinkly racist and sexist orange who may or may not be a complete waste of organs and oxygen is on the verge of becoming the next president of the US of A. ANYWAY! Point is, is that demos are an endangered species. Public betas on the other hand? Essentially that, but on a far more limited basis and that’s what we have to work with to validate our entire gaming purchase decisions.
Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 is powering up for a beta ahead of release in two months, which publisher Bandai Namco says will give players access to the hub of Conton City, an Expert Mission level in multiplayer mode that allows group battles on boss-level foes and a new character to play as. And that’s about it, as Bandai Namco have yet to reveal when said beta will be out, although over 9000 websites will most likely use a clickbait headline to inform you when said information is made public for Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2.
In addition to all that, here’s a look at a certain prince of Saiyans who never used an attack called Purple Rain, in his most vile of modes. Yup, you can expect to play as Majin Vegeta in Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2. Stronger! Faster! Forecasting the future of facial decorations with a gigantic M tattoo! And you can bet your favourite action figure that someone is going to cry when Vegeta fights Majin Buu and utters that one line about scattering his ashes to the wind. Hint: It’s me. I’m only human dammit.
Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 is out on October 25 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Expect to see my custom creation, Ultra-D, become more disappointing than Yamcha in a Saibaman fight.
